Log in to Your Router
To change your Unifi password, you’ll need to log in to your router. The first step is finding out what IP address it has. This can done by logging into it through another network device like a computer or phone. If you do not know its IP address, you may have trouble logging in and changing its settings. In that case, you will want to make sure that the router’s IP address is 192.168.1.1 by default before attempting any other steps.
Next, you may find that your administrator webpage requires a username and password, which are typically located on either a sticker or printed directly onto your wireless router itself. They should consist of eight characters or less and letters and numbers.If they are longer than eight characters, they should include both upper-case and lower-case letters and numbers.
You should avoid using common passwords such as admin or Password. After entering those details correctly, you will then be able to access several different functions, including general settings about your connection (such as encryption) along with some more advanced features like port forwarding options for gamers who play online with others over their local network connections.
Changing Your Unifi Username

If you are already signed in, go ahead and click on My Account at the top of any page. From there, click on Basic Info. To change your basic info, you will need to provide proof of identity.
Next, you can upload a picture of your driver’s license or passport by clicking Upload ID and selecting which document you would like to upload. Once that’s done, proceed by entering in your new Username & Password. And voila! You’ve successfully changed your username. Happy surfing! Once logged in, hover over MY ACCOUNT, then click BASIC INFO. Also, save your new credentials, so they don’t disappear from unifi gear after 3 hours (as mentioned below). Find Password Field
After logging into your router, you’ll see a field called Password on one of the tabs. Please type in a new password and re-enter it in the second field. Then click Apply Changes at the bottom of that page. Your router will reboot (if it doesn’t, power it off and then back on again), and you should be able to access it with its new Password now. If you ever need to change your Password again down the road, just come back here and follow these same steps.
Changing the SSID Name
Changing your SSID is as simple as clicking on a tab and typing in a new name. It can also help you identify which network is yours if you are part of a larger building or neighborhood. You don’t need to change it. But it’s worth considering if you want others around you to find your network quickly. You might also want to change it. If people in your area have similar names like Linksys or default, so they aren’t confused with yours.
Save Changes
Changing your wireless router’s password is as simple as logging into its web interface. Just open a web browser, enter 192.168.1.1 (or whatever default IP address it has) into your browser’s URL bar, and hit Enter. Log NeXT, log with admin/admin (or whatever original username/password came with it). From there, change both of those passwords to something new. Restart Device

This can done by unplugging it from its power source for at least five seconds. Waiting 10 seconds after plugging it back in, and then pressing the reset button on the back of its housing. Press enter/enter+setup on your wireless device, and log in with a username and password just as you did when first setting up your router.
